Galpin Ford GTR1 Revealed

Galpin Auto Sports have debuted their Ford GTR1 at Monterey to show us what they think the next gen Ford GT would/should look like in the form of their coachbuilt answer....

At the moment the production will consists of 6 cars(increased to 24 cars if enough interest) with the carbon fibre body package setting you back $1,024,000 however choosing the aluminium bodywork will make that lower but we are not sure by how much…

This car will have a 5.4litre V8 generating 1024 horsepower and 739 torque! According to the company the top speed is 225+ mph and 0-60 in just 3.1seconds with 0-100 at 6.8seconds. It can even reach 0-200-0 in just 18.9seconds thanks to its carbon0-ceramic brakes.

Even though it will be faster that Ferrari LaFerrari, Mclaren P1 and Porshe 918 Spyder, do you reckon any owners will go for it?

Galpin GTR1 Roaring Away From Pebble Beach Finally, some beautiful sounds to go with the beautiful sights from Pebble Beach.

It might be tempting to think of the Galpin GTR1 prototype, recently unveiled at Pebble Beach, as just a Ford GT with some refreshed bodywork. While this might be technically true, it is important to remember the engine has also been updated. The new vision for the GT produces 1,197 horsepower from a 5.4-liter V8 which has had its supercharger, given to it by Ford in the original, replaced by a pair of turbochargers. Previous stories about the car might not have inspired you to appreciate the engine quite as much as the new body, so in an effort to fix that, we bring you a video of the car starting up and driving off.
