Introduction to the Jagman :

Cars move us like no other invention. The motorcar gave us the chance to travel independently like never before, to go further and faster with fewer and fewer restrictions. The car gave us our freedom , and introduced change into our lives. It changed the way we work , the way we shop and play , and live.  It forced us to change our roads and our towns , and in the progress changed our environment. The motorcar may not always have changed our world for the better, but for most of us without it would have been simply unthinkable.

The best cars are not just tools for transporting people from one place to another. The finest of them--the great cars--have style and soul that elevate them from mere functional objects , turning them into technical , artistic , or sporting stars . Whether they are graceful or aggressive in style, simple or sophisticated in engineering , whether they had a long and successful life , a brief moment of glory , or were enormous failure , these are the cars that stir the enthusiasts soul.

These are the cars you will find on the pages of our magazine that follow--from pioneers of the earliest days that proved the car was visible . Through the classic cars that have stood the test of time . Some of the fastest , most flamboyant , and the most expensive machines of today . Some of the cars featured here were built for the masses , some for the selected few.

Their are small cars , fast cars , and luxury limousines , technical innovators , and style icons. They are all different but each one has its own claim to glory in the annals of motor history--and each one is , in its own way  Just Great Cars.

As the editor ,  I am so pleased and excited to introduce you to , our online magazine.  Jagman's car magazine  of  'Just great cars '

Introduction:

My love of the Automobile

Joe Conti

As a boy I remember loving to draw . At that time I was about ten years old and saw a picture in the newspaper with a brand new car ad. The picture was a 1957 Desoto. I remember the big wings on the back of the car. It was different than any other car I had ever seen. It must have left an impression on me . In school we had drawing class and the teacher told us to draw anything that we wanted . So from my memory I drew that same car ad with every detail. My teacher  and  I were amazed on how well my drawing came out. I know every kid says he can draw, but I had an untrained talent. My teachers saw that too. It looked exactly like the  car ad in the paper. From that day I started to draw all types of cars. With every drawing i got better.

As you can see , over the years Corvette has always been important to me , Today I still love them but, I've been driving ' Jaguar  ' and have as great a love for them as much as the car that started my love affair.

All I wanted to do was draw cars. I guess that every boy goes through that. We all just want our own car , no matter what kind. My art teachers thought that I should take this talent and focus on getting into an art school. Yeah  but, did any school teach drawing cars ?

Well in fact to my surprise yes. I got serious with my drawings and started to work on a scholarship to the Art Center Of Design in L.A. . Wanted to become a designer for G.M. that was in 1963 . Then Vietnam....!

That side tracked everything. I ended up having to go into the service. Now what ? As fate would have it ,I found an old 1957 Corvette and that started me in a new direction for the rest of my life . It needed paint and a bunch more but, it had a new high performance engine. That car was fast, and my first sports car. That was right in the middle of the muscle car era. Guys everybody then had cool cars. Best of all we didn't think anything about it, it was just their.

Then WOW I saw it. the Corvette stingray, this was what  I was drawing in school.  I had to have . So with luck , and a small down payment.  I ordered one . A new , red 1966 Corvette Stingray coupe . Not just any 'vette' ,  but a 427 cu. 4 speed muncie stick . with 372 possi  gears. A total killer - what a car. What I didn't know was this was my true beginning of a love affair with cars. Till this day I truly miss that car. I guess you really do never forget your first love. Since then I have had more then my share of totally awesome cars.

We all love cars and can't help but look and stare when some beauty drives by. Doesn't matter if it's a old vintage machine or an  Exotic mind bender.

This web magazine is to keep my pursuit of all the fantastic eye candy for me and all who have a passion and love of  the  Automobile.

All the different angles and views became easy . I didn't think anything of it at the time I just wanted to draw . After going into high school I really had an knack for drawing , My teachers wanted me to look into a college.
